It is crucial for students learning a new language to know How to read an listen in a correct, productive way. It is a teacher's job to help students develop reading and listening skills. With theory breakdown and examples, this unit giver teachers a good base to successfully teach receptive skills.I think the things in this chapter, I already knew from working at a ESL school. I think I learned the right terms for using the words from this chapter. I think that I did learn about some new disadvantages for the use of text books. I liked the four step rule for options for course book use. I think it was interesting because it is kind of what we do at my school. We learn from the text and then the next hour we create an activity based on what we learned. It was quit nice.
