In this unit I was able to learn about the different ways to manage a classroom with consideration to class size, age, nationality, and other factors which determine proper learning of material and rapport amongst the group. Among the factors mentioned in the unit, I found the section on ?Grouping Students? of particular interest. I understand now how grouping students can aid in establishing rapport, and is conducive for creative activities allowing more STT, which is what language learning is all about?conversing!This unit focuses on different types of classes a teacher might be teaching during his or her career. Teaching children is different to teaching adults. Learners in a compulsory Business English class might be less motivated than students in a multilingual class in an English speaking country. In individual 1-1 lessons student speaking time is high but the lack of classroom dynamics can make the lessons more boring. This unit gives helpful tips on how to address the needs and expectations of the different types of learners.
