This is the unit that had the newest information for me thus far. As someone who has never formally studied phonology or the rules of pronunciation, I think this unit did the important job of teaching the very basics, making me say the sentences out loud and feel the way that certain sounds were made in my throat and with my tongue. I think I will have to continue referring and studying more in depth the different methods of teaching students how to pronounce certain words but even as a native English speaker, I wish I had had some of this formal training. My first language was Korean, not English and sometimes, pronunciations get muddled with the way that I would say Korean words. I understand the challenge of learning to pronounce English words with the right intonations and stresses. I want to incorporate this practice into my lessons as well.
