There are many different kinds of students learning the English language. These range from children to adult students and students who are not very motivated to highly motivated. Typically younger students are forced to take English by their parents and are therefore not highly motivated. Adult students tend to be more motivated because they are taking English lessons on their own accord. A good teacher should hopefully be able to encourage students to enjoy their English lessons by discussing their needs and expectations early on. Each classroom dynamic will be different due to the students needs and expectations. For example students taking communicative English may be eager and energetic and capable of a heavier course load, whereas business students may be tired after already working a long day and need a lighter course load and less homework.
