The various ways teachers group students, how they organise their position and that of the students as well as the advantages and disadvantages of these are covered also covered.
Practical tips are given on how to:
- reduce the time spend writing on the board,
- give individual attention to all students,
- have a good balance between TTT and STT,
- give instructions effectively,
- establishing rapport and class spirit and
- maintaining discipline.
I appreciated the point on using the students name at the end of the question to keep the whole class alert. I also think that many problems can really be prevented if the teacher applies the points outlined.
