Within this unit, a variety of teaching themes were covered. Songs/chants/music, games, stories, arts and crafts and seasonal activities can all be utilized successfully within a lesson plan for YLs to teaching reading, writing, speaking and listening. It is important for teachers to consider the age of the students and the topic being taught, then decide which activity can be best used to teach that topic. I felt I learned a lot from this unit, but since I currently work with YLs who are of various ages and all at the starter/beginner stage (it is necessary to use their native language when teaching, they cannot read in English, etc.), I found that many of these activities cannot be used with my students without heavy changes. I wish there was more on how to use these themes when working in YL classrooms where instruction in English is impossible.
