Lessons plans are to create a logical sequence of the class time in a working document that becomes a record, and can be used for a substitute. Including strengths and weaknesses is an opportunity to have better materials and strategy on hand in the future.
The Engage phase is 5 minutes of S-T time. The Study phase is 10 minutes and shows the structure of the grammatical point to be presented in S-T interaction. This involves matching, gap fill and unscrambling for example. The Activate phase is 25 minutes of S-S interaction where students can pair up. The process for study activities include a demonstration; the students elicit a correct answer and the instructor gives out the material. This is a team where students should interact freely without interruption from the instructor. Before giving feedback all activity should have been stopped.
