This unit taught the steps in teaching a new language including new vocabulary, grammatical structures and language function. Also, this unit taught the various ESA lessons that can correspond to each new language step. I learned what is important in each phase of learning a new language and the best methods of teaching each phase. When learning a new language it's vital that students are exposed to it, understand its meaning, understand how it's constructed and the students should be able to practice it. It's vital because without these four things, students would not be able to grasp the new language. This can be accomplished through the ESA lessons. Students learning new vocabulary should do so at an early stage because without learning new vocabulary first, they would not be able to go on to learn the grammatical structure or language function.
