Several teaching themes and techniques were described in this unit. Case studies, Problem-Based Learning, Frameworking, the use of games and computers, and Speech Act Theory were among the different concepts covered in this section. I think some of the more useful insights that I learned from this section include, how to use Games, Frameworking, and the Speech-Act Theory. With Games, it was helpful to be reminded to start with a teaching point first, then adapt a game for it, rather than the other way around. Frameworking was also a unique technique for me to describe the process of change and how we can apply tenses with this method. Finally, learning about the different levels in Speech-Act theory was a new concept for me. It was especially helpful in understanding cross-cultural differences and applying this in future practice will be interesting.
