I have learnt from this unit that a course book has its advantages and disadvantages both for teachers and students. Sometimes even having a good course book teachers have to create their own materials for supplement tasks or replace some sections which are not suitable for the class in order the course to be more interesting for the students. It is possible to do it using authentic or created materials. Authentic materials include magazines, newspapers, songs, films on video,etc. Theachers should choose such materials carefully because they are not designed for the EFL students. As for ceated materials, teachers design them themselves. Doing this teachers have to use their creative abilities to make such materials suitable and interesting for the particular class. Such materials include gap fill activities, role-play cards, word search puzzles, etc.
