This unit gave a good overview of what aspects a good teacher should have and good aspects a good learner should have. It is clear that a good teacher will have good students. I enjoyed learning about all the different roles a teacher will need to take during the classes depending on what is happening during the lesson. As a learner of a second language (Spanish) I can definitely relate to some of the characteristics of what makes a good learner. It took me a long time to realise that making mistakes was not a bad thing, but actually helps to learn the language. As a teacher you need to remember that every student is different in the way they learn and will have their own reason and motivation for learning English. Adults will also have their own life experiences, which could see them judging the class teaching methods, more than with Young Learners.
