This unit has been the most difficult one so far, but also the most interesting and helpful. There are so many examples to be used in the classroom and so much information that's useful for how a classroom should run. The emphasis on student-centered learning was especially necessary and informative. High Teacher Talking Time and teacher-led activities tend to be the easiest default, but are actually the most harmful things an ESL teacher could do. Having this lesson drilled into a trainee or new teacher at the earliest opportunity is necessary to prevent that easy default from ever happening in the first place. The myriad of examples and ideas are even more helpful and I'm eager to try out all of them. Elicitation can be one of the hardest skills to hone, so it was incredibly helpful to learn more activities that encourage eliciting student responses.
