The last unit contains the information about troubleshooting in the ESL classes – for example, conducting the first lesson, difficulty in listening to the dialogues for learners, working with a large class or when students try to use their first language, not English. An inexperienced teacher may refer to the book but it’s a bad idea for the first lesson, - establishing rapport, finding out the level and students’ needs would be much better. Another problem can be when learners have different levels of English, so but there are some techniques for teachers to deal with it – using different materials, pair strong students with weaker ones. If the class is big, it should be pair/group work done and choral repetitions should be used. For reluctant students teacher can provide different activities such as role-play, a lot of pair work.
