This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
I was relieved to learn about evaluation and testing in foreign language studies, because I haven't any formal training on this topic. Currently, my students from 2-6th grade fill out a reflection card \"furikaeri\" and rate how well they thought they used communication skills and anything they learned or should try to work on next time. Since I am not fluent in Japanese, I do not read the older grades (3-6) because they use kanji, but I think that the teachers read and stamp them. I have some of the grades read their reflection card outloud sometimes, when there is time. However, after reading this article, I think it would benefit the learning of the students if I consulted with the teachers about what the students are saying about the lesson and how we can improve our teaching based on their reflections (make the lesson content easier or harder).
