This unit is vital in the process of learning how to teach because it's important to know what role each word takes in a sentence and be able to identify the rules and patterns. It's important to understand how to use connectors such as prepositions or conjunctions to be able to bring ideas together. It's important to know the difference between adverbs and adjectives to be able to properly describe nouns and actions. Every part of speech is unique when forming a sentence.
This unit really helped me clarify the concept of each part of speech and gave me a greater knowledge of how to explain it in a way that is comprehendible. Many times students struggle with understanding the differences of each category and how to correctly use each part of speech in the right way. Without a base knowledge of sentence structure it's difficult to advance in a language.
