Unit 2 is based on the parts of speech used in the English language. It is a overview of the basic rules of grammar. The unit talks about nouns, both standard and proper as well as pronouns. It also talks about verbs, adverbs, adjectives, prepositions, conjunctions and articles. It also talks about a few other typical parts of speech including gerunds and the different types of the previously mentioned parts of speech, such as countable and uncountable nouns, comparative and superlative adjectives. It does not go into a lot of detail but gives a brief description as well as examples of each. From this lesson I learned that some more of the parts of speech may present a lot of challenge for a new learner. Such as the difference between a preposition and a conjunction, which are very similar and can have rules that are not set in stone on when to use them.
