This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
this unit is the most difficult for me since i have start to learn English. because i think pronunciation, stress, phonics etc these are part of English grammar which is not so much interesting like writing, speaking. its easy to encourage students to learn vocabulary, write a story or tell a story in front of a class, but its hard to encourage students to learn about stress and syllables, phonemic symbols and especially about the speech organs and place of articulation. This lesson breaks down English skills into two broad categories: productive skills and receptive skills, specifically focusing on receptive skills of reading and listening. I was quite interested in the section which detailed how reading skills differ from listening skills--when reading, students have the opportunity to read again and again to figure out the meaning of words and language. But when listening, there is no such opportunity, as the speaker will continue on.
