In this unit I learned about the concept of Engage, Study and Activate. I became familiar with the most common methods or teaching a foreign language with are Grammar-translation, Audio-lingualism, Presentation, Practice, and Production (PPP), Task-Based Learning, Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), Community Language Learning (CLL), The silent way, Suggestopaedia and The Lexical approach. At time it was hard to keep them separated in my mind because they all have important elements that will make teaching a foreign language effective and fun. I learned about the different forms of correction and that the least desired is Teacher-student correction. I appreciate the examples that were given in the Engage, Study and Activate stages. The content of this unit was full of great approaches to teaching students at the lower and the higher levels of learning.
