In this chapter, I’ve grasped some useful information concerning evaluation and testing. Through evaluation teachers would be able to know how well or bad their students are performing, and so they would know how far they are from achieving the target required. It would also enable them to monitor the progress and determine which areas need more or less focus. Therefore, there are number of ways to assess the students’ language level, the common way is to be assessed through tests. However, there are various kinds of tests that can be selected based on the category you want to evaluate and the timing of that evaluation. Furthermore, this unit has covered some general external examinations. Some are focused on the integrated skills, English proficiency or just on one particular skill. This is in general the idea of what mainly this unit all about.
