This unit focused on reviewing verb tenses in the English language. It was mostly review for me, as I have been working closely on teaching these topics in class. As I stated before, this review is very helpful because native English speakers will often know how to use the language without necessarily knowing why it is used that way or how to go about teaching it. Eventhough I am familiar with this topic, I found the examples helpful to apply to my classes in the future. This unit covers the four past tenses and I learnt some basic rules to teach use when teaching the students. It teaches past simple where in the affirmative form you add -ed or -d to the base form of the word. Past continuous where in the affirmative form you use subject + was/were + verb+ ing. Past perfect where in the affirmative form you use subject + had + past participle. Past perfect continuous where in the affirmative form you use subject + had + been + verb+ ing.
