This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit covered the basic parts of speech and how they are put together to form a sentence. I come away with a refreshed understanding of the different parts of speech, but also with a sense of awe for people who become fluent in English as a second language. There are so many irregular verbs and irregular word modifications! One point that I did not realize before is that all words that end in -ing are not gerunds. A gerund is the -ing form of a verb when it is used as a noun.Conditional and reported speech also took a lot of time for me. I went back to previous units to get a full understanding. With identification of present simple to past simple, and past perfect to no change, and all the tenses in between it took a while to prepare for the exam. I think reported speech should be a lot of fun in the activate stage. It seems like there are a lot of good games to keep things going with student to student talk time. I hope I did well on this exam.
