This unit was specifically about managing and organising classes in a pleasant, relaxed manner and maintaining discipline.
I found this module very enlightening because it gave an insight into subtle aspects that a teacher can implement, such as eye contact, voice, and gestures to build and maintain good rapport with their students. Also, the grouping and disciplinary techniques provide guidance on how to effectively engage students in the learning process whilst retaining control of the situation.I have learned that there are authentic and created materials I can use to teach my students. The course book is not necessarily gospel. It can be supplemented with other materials. I may omit some things from the book however I shouldn't omit too much so that the students don't think buying the book was a waste. Overall I should consider when choosing a course book if I get the opportunity to, is to should make sure the book suits the students I am teaching and as always try and make learning fun.
