This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This was a difficult unit to get my head around - as many of these grammar rules/terms are unfamiliar to me. Fortunately, I think I understand it pretty well now and expect to get 100% in my test. I've learn't about the 4 forms in which the present tense is expressed. I can now identify present tense phrases and categorize them according to which present form tense they are in. I am also becoming more familiar with terms such as \"participle\", aux.verb and so on. Generally, I am learning crucial grammar points which will be very useful for me when I return to China. As with the present tense, this unit reviews the four types of past tenses: past simple, past continuous, past perfect, and past perfect continuous. Again this was a helpful review that lays out some strategies for explaining the different forms of the past tense. I can foresee students asking why they have to learn all of these different forms; it might be helpful to review strategies for dealing with those questions, since colloquially we often use past simple in place of the other forms. In reading, I suppose, they come up more often, especially in academic texts.
