Productive skills produce language and the reason is for reinforcement,development and learning style.In this approach the teacher will focus on the final product (piece of writing) not in the effort or processes the students go through.The goal of speaking skills is communicative efficiency. Learners should be able to make themselves understood and should try to avoid confusion in the message due to faulty pronunciation, grammar or vocabulary, and to observe the social rules that apply in each communicative situation.Unit 8 is about writing and speaking. In teaching speech there are two kinds of activities, accuracy and fluency. Accuracy is focused on producing correct language and fluency concentrates on allowing students to be creative and experiment with the language. They are equally important. Handwriting, spelling, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary and layout are all important pertaining to writing and differentiate it from speaking. I learned the importance of teaching communication and how to help encourage students to do so.
