This unit has taught me the different teaching methods available to me as a teacher and why some of them don?t work or have become unpopular. This unit has also shown me basic lesson plans or even further than that teaching plans for a whole section of the syllabus. It has shown me how to correct a student without causing damage and that it is important to praise as well as correct and to be sure there is care taken when differentiating between a mistake and an error.This unit was about how to manage new groups, and existing groups. It also touched on the methods to employ in building a rapport with students e.g. the ball game. In situations where the English speaking levels are different it is advised to use pair-work or adjust the level of materials to suit the needs of the individual students, while keeping a general theme so that you can reintegrate the class as a whole. Questionaires, surveys and warmers are all very important.
