Overall, I reviewed and learned how to teach a New language vocabulary, introducing grammatical structers, and the new language functions. I learned the factors to consider when selecting new vocabulary words to the students, what students need to know when discovering new vocabulary words, and techniques and examples of lessons. Also, I learned and understand the techniques to teach both grammatical structers and new language of functions and new lessons to conduct for the students.This unit reviewed many different types of assessments and examinations, for within a classroom and beyond. I would have liked to see a better example of a diagnostic test, and how it differs from a placement test. Also, much of the focus was on British assessments rather than international assessments. In Canada we use the Canadian Language Benchmarks as our main assessment tool, especially for ESL instruction, with TOEFL and IELTS used for students headed to higher levels of study.
