I really enjoyed this unit on classroom management. Within my own experiences working in schools in Manitoba I have come across many students who have larger behaviour needs than others. When placing students into different classrooms as well as arranging the students within that class I know teachers keep many of these factors in mind (seating arrangements, pair work etc.). I found the balance between TTT and STT very interesting and I will definitely keep those ideas in mind within my own classroom.Unit eight covers teaching productive skills- speaking and writing. While speaking and writing are substantially different in many ways, they are both used for the same purpose- to communicate. The teacher must create the need and desire, in the students, to communicate. Differences between accuracy and fluency activities are discussed. Different speaking activities and ways to encourage students to speak are also reviewed. The unit then covers writing skills and concludes with games in the classroom.
