In this chapter, I was able to look at the difference between authentic materials and created materials. For teaching, it may be good to have a course book in which you can have a general syllabus created, however it is important to edit that lesson plan to fit the needs of your students and also add in activities that will fill their interests and include English that they need to learn. It is important to have a good balance between pre made materials and also making sure that you are creative and can make interesting activities and lesson.In this unit, I learned about how to manage a classroom. As I read the material, I realized there is a balance that must be maintained between a friendly, relaxed atmosphere and a disciplined environment. On the one hand, if the teacher never deals with problematic behavior, everyone in the class will suffer for it, and learning will be impeded. On the other hand, if the teacher is too strict students may be too scared to speak up and join in certain activities. The teacher must be skilled at balancing an open but still disciplined environment.
