Following the previous unit, this unit focused on teaching productive skills which include speaking and writing skills. Both skills are necessary for communication. There are different approaches and activities that are useful for encouraging and improving speaking and writing skills. Some of these activities may focus on accuracy (the study phase) while others focus on fluency (activate phase). Furthermore, this unit provided a few examples of classroom games that are useful for enhancing productive skills.This unit covered evaluating and testing student's knowledge of the language being taught. I learned the different testing options and why we test. Even if a teacher is not in favor of a formal test, I know why they are important to give. I've also learned of different external examinations. Which also explain the importance on testing student's in order to make sure they are prepared to take these exams. The more the units go on, the more I understand the teaching method and why teachers do certain things.
