To elaborate more, the chapter goes into depth of how to teach new vocabulary, and language functions to your students. This chapter also goes into detail the three types of ESA structures used to teach new language; which are 'Straight Arrow' structure, 'patchwork' structure, and the 'boomerang' structure. I also learned that the 'straight arrow' ESA approach are commonly used for grammar and vocabulary, while the 'boomerang' ESA approach are more commonly used for function-based lessons.
