This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
A very technical unit with a lot of food for thought particularly regarding phrasal verbs as they are multi-word verbs and obviously something that I use continually in ordinary conversations but not something I consciously recognised until I studied them in this module. I appreciate why they might also present a challenge to a non-native speaker as well as I can imagine they might be tricky without continual practice and contact.
I appreciated the inclusion of passive speech and how it can transform the nature of the information being communicated.
The work on modal verbs was also quite interesting as they seem to stand alone and apart in some senses. The words in this category were words I had thought about and tried to imagine exactly how they were defined and how exactly did they fit in with other parts of speech while doing work in the earlier units.
