Form this section I realized I have been long out of practice with the intricacies of the English language. While I know the general basics I have long forgotten some of the many principles and nuances of the different parts of speech. I realize I have taken for granted what I know on an academic level because of mainly only having to worry about being grammatically correct on required papers and exams. I appreciate that the unit assumed that the reader was a beginner level English student because it provided me with the ability relearn some of the basics that I have long forgotten. I feel this helped be get a better idea of how a beginner student may feel when attempting to learn the differences between nouns and pronouns, various verbs, and the use of gerunds and prepositions. It can definitely be overwhelming for first time students and returning learners.
