Evaluation and assessment is quite important nowadays since most educational institutions apply them to sort of record the students' progress during the courses. Assessments can be done through tutorials, evaluation by the students or tests. Tests are basically the most common way to evaluate students. There are different tests: placement tests in order to know the student English level and \"place\"him/her in the appropriate class, diagnostic tests conducted at the beginning the lesson in order to asses the students' current knowledge of English, progress tests which are done periodically and meant to asses the progress of the students during the course, knowledge acquired and weak points. Finally, there are also practice tests which is basically meant to help the students to prepare for standardized English tests such as Cambridge, Toefl, Ielts and others.
