I am personally taking away many helpful tips and methods concerning how to manage classes. When I was teaching English in Mexico, I had a class of around 7 adults on some nights and then during the days, I had about 80 young children. Obviously, the ways in which I approached these two very different classes also very much varied. I appreciate the emphasis on how careful and self-aware the teacher must be, especially in terms of hogging attention or commanding too much in front. This is not an aspect that I thought much about but in retrospect and in studying this now, I do see the possibilities for a teacher-focused class lesson to be distracting and even reductive for learning potential. I do believe that each class I teach will be different and my class management methods will become more obvious and innately implemented than I can visualize at the moment.
