This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
In short, Unit 3 was about how to maintain a class. Everything from the different sections to how to structure a class from beginning to end. In addition to explaining each building block, and the purpose behind them, copious examples were provided for each stage of the lesson. I found this beneficial as a beginner, as this gives me some guidance, an idea of where to start for when I begin planning my own lessons. Preparation is key, and I've been in situations before where I've seen students lose faith in a teacher as a result of poor class planning or maintenance. What would appear most difficult, however, is how to adapt mid-lesson to the needs of the students. I imagine that some scenarios just require experience in order to become more skillful, such as when to correct a student, or how to mix up the ESA structure in a way that flows well for a lesson plan.
