This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
Unit 13 covered pronunciation and phonology.
The unit started off covering phonology and intonation. Intonation is concerned with the variation in volume and pitch in a whole sentence, with the normal pattern of intonation in a statement is the rise/fall.
Next was the stress that is used in sentences which is more concerned with individual words. A word that is stressed in a sentence can completely change the meaning of the sentence depending on which word is the stressed one.
The phonemic alphabet was covered which was interesting, it was almost like learning another language or another language inside of the English language.
Finally covering the articulation and how sounds are produced from the way our lips and tongue are positioned. As well as giving a break down of the anatomy inside our mouths to help identify the ways we produce the different sounds.
