In each new teaching position a teacher will be faced with meeting a number of new classes for the first time. These classes can be a new one where the students don't know each other and are unfamiliar with the EFL methodology, and an existing one where the students are likely to already know each other and be comfortable with one another, and are also familiar with the EFL methodology.
One of the biggest problems that teachers face is a group where the students are at varying levels. It is important for the teacher to know how to deal with this problem. For example, using different materials where the difference in ability is wide, or same materials but different tasks, giving the stronger students longer, more complicated tasks appropriate to their level.
The use of the students' native language can be problematic.It is important to avoid it as much as possible.
