I’ve read a lot about past tense and met a lot of different explanations for this topic before. I would say that it’s not an easy thing for students to learn how to definite situations where used past continuous tense from situations where past perfect continuous is required. But at the same moment I would mention that it’s not that difficult as well.
Past tense is a very useful in real spoken English that is why I would suggest everyone to spend enough time (just as much time as you need until you feel you’ve learned it) practicing Past Tense. Past tense is very challenging for most of students, due to irregular verbs and connection of meaning sequence with grammar form.
In regards to the Unit contents, I would suggest add more materials and exercises into the task sheet, because, as I mentioned before, Past Tense topic needs more practice.
