This unit explores the diverse and broad world of teaching equipment. It analyses the board, the interactive whiteboard, the OHP with its advantages and disadvantages, visual aids, worksheets, tapes, CDs, audio and video clips, dictionaries, photocopiers, computers, resource books, and online resources.I would stress the importance of the traditional board which captures students' attention and allows teachers to be flexible and specific and which helps teachers to save time during the lesson in contrast to the time-consuming OHP. Visual aids and worksheets should also be daily tools for teachers who can personalise them with their own creativity. Videos are another kind of interesting aid which should be implemented to stimulate discussion or to examine in depth a specific topic. Finally, monolingual dictionaries should always be available and ready for learners.
