What have I learnt from this lesson? Not as much as what I learnt from lesson two. Theory is good but Ideally theory should be practical, directly applicable to lessons and teaching.
Methodologies was somewhat interesting but too theoretical. ESA had some useful points but is common sense for teachers. With elicitation a good ratio of teacher to student talk time is 20% teacher 80% students.
Correction techniques and theory was just soso.
ESA (yes, another acronym) is basically encourage students talk, correct the students talk and encourage students to use their English. Common sense. The 20 ideas for engaging though are very handy and I can see them being very useful in my lessons. Well done.
The practical ides for the study and activate phases are also very good. With word searches for example, I can easily look them online for pretty much any type of cleass.
