How interesting! This unit demonstrates effective and ineffective teaching methods involving: the importance of the teacher's attitude and behavior toward the students; how to make a smooth transition from one stage of the lesson to another, i.e. \"Now we have lots of words all to do with moving..\"; the use of mime and gesturing to elicit words from the class; the acknowledgment of each student by using his or her name and making sure all participate; the use of questions to involve the class in correcting wrong answers; the use of silence and gesture to encourage the class to give sentences using \"can and \"can't\" which may help them feel they are part of guiding the class; and the use of drills at an appropriate time. It was also noteworthy that the instructor in the second lesson used simple but clear English without talking down to the students. Thank you!
