This is how our TEFL graduates feel they have gained from their course, and how they plan to put into action what they learned:
This unit focuses on pronunciation and phonetics. It covers how intonation and syllable stress can add meaning or even change the meaning of a word within a sentence, depending on the use of the speaker. The unit also covers the phonetic alphabet and techniques for teaching the pronunciation of individual sounds to a new learner. This unit is very useful, as a native speaker long ago learned the proper pronunciation based on regional uses of the English language, and this formal overview is useful as a future teaching guide.I have learnt different modal auxiliary verbs and what I can express with those verbs but also how the use of modal auxiliary verbs can change the formality and meaning of the main verb. The unit displayed three different teaching ideas for modal auxiliary verbs which are role plays, establishing rules and making up signs. I have learnt how an active sentence is changed into a passive one and how different tenses are formated correctly. Furthermore, I have learnt about three different categories of clauses and phrasal verbs.
