Wow! Packing conditionals and reported speech both into one unit was like putting a 300 pound gorilla in a VW bug. Given that most Americans don't use any of these forms correctly, let alone know the technical names for them, this was a challenging but enlightening unit. Once I went through the conditionals a couple of times they made good sense, but I can see they must cause ESL learners much consternation. Reported speech could be another head banger if someone is a perfectionist. I learned a lot!This unit revisited information that was taught in Unit 3 about theories, methodologies and techniques; and also new concepts about the use of vocabulary, grammar and language functions that are extremely important in the world of English Language. This unit discusses the different types of levels of each of the 3 mentioned attributes of the English Language, as well as the appropriate activities that would be conducive for each learner's academic level or level of understanding of the English Language.
