This unit mainly focused on vocabulary, grammar structure and language functions. I learnt about the criteria we use when selecting vocabulary and different techniques for vocabulary teaching. Important points to keep in mind while teaching vocabulary item are meaning, usage, word grammar, how the word interacts and affects other words, spelling and pronunciation. Whereas, for grammatical structures, students must be taught with what the language means, how it is used, formation and patterns of the language.This unit was less instructive than others have been, this is largely due to the fact that I have done many courses on presentation and holding the attention of members of a crowd of varying ages and sizes. As for the seating positions and classroom setups this section was something I have learned from being in many classrooms over my time as a student as well as lecture venues and extra lessons and small group tutorials. I have been a tutor at university level and have used many of these techniques already.
