I have learned a few things from this unit about teaching a new language to students. The main idea that I have learned is that while it is important to choose the vocabulary based on the students level of language it is even more important to plan on how you will teach that vocabulary. You must continuously engage the student in learning the vocabulary, structure, etc. while also creating interesting and useful study guides that will later help them actively use what they have learned.In this unit i have learnt that the delivery of the lesson by the teacher is very important. To make students more comfortable to participate the teachers attitude is important. When the teacher is happy, warm and cheerful students respond better. By breaking the ice at the beggining of the lesson students feel more at ease and are more willing to participate. Therefore building rapport is very important to gain the trust of students and give them confidence in the learning environment.
