I had never learnt the phonetic alphabet before, so I think that this could be a useful thing to know. Though I thought that the descriptions of the various parts of the mouth, and fricative/plosive/etc. descriptions would be useful for some people, in my case they weren't. My husband and I took an in-person two-week course on linguistics and how the mouth makes sounds about five years ago. Some of your descriptions didn't quite match theirs, so I found this side of your course to be a little confusing. An area in which I admitededly struggled before, I seem to have caught on to it now luckily.
