Theses are parts of grammar I had not previously realized have a role in teaching English. Howerever a student's understanding of the six conditional forms of speech should enhance their correct usage of verb tenses, pronouns, expressions of time, sentence patterns, etc. A working knowledge of reported speech and direct speech will also aid in a student's ability to grasp a sense of timeline, correct verb tense usage, and correct usage of pronouns.This unit covered conditionals and reported speech and how it can affect the many verb tenses that we have learned. These are some of the more complex grammatical structures that native English speakers use commonly without really understanding the mechanics at play. By going over the specific changes in reported speech and conditional changes, This unit helped me understand how to teach non native English speakers these complex systems of grammar.
