This unit showed me just how much I thought I knew about English terminology. I have been so accustomed to speaking that I forgot how actually identifying the terms is vital. Without being able to identify specifically, teaching the tenses will be a roller coaster most won't or even can't ride. Am very grateful that this section explains the tenses of English and the various ways they are used to make or change implications in sentences. The unit also highlights how if the wrong tense is used a sentence can have different, incomplete, or incorrect meaning.Too much planning can make lessons rigid and teachers inflexible. Inexperienced teachers, however, may need more guidelines. Most will strike a balance. Lesson plans help you identify what you expect, how to stay on target, and how to record what has actually happened. Lesson plans should include what students should be able to accomplish, and how you can improve your teaching. Amongst the objectives should be the activities used, how much time is spent on each activity, and who (e.g., pairs, groups or the whole class) will be interacting at each stage.
