I've learnt the difference between the receptive and productive skills, as well as the importance of them. Thr unit brings very clear explanation on how to conduct a lesson in order to work the receptive skills, using the ESA methodology to exercise and achieve the goal for each lesson. A important factor is the reasons why we read or listen to something, when studying, reading a manual or simply enjoying our favorite book or songs. All the skills must be exercised not only for a language comprehention, when learining a new language the students must be exposed to de country's culture and history, the reader/listenner should be able to understand the different meaning of a phrase or word according to the language's country culture. What make sence in one language may not make sence in the other. The recepctive skills go beyond the letters and words on the grammar book.
