In English there are three different tenses: past, present and future. Each of these has 4 forms: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. This gives us a total of 12 tenses. Each tense has an affirmative, negative and interrogative form.
Teachers need to have a good knowledge of each especially because they can be rather confusing for students. Very often there isn't an equivalent in the student's language and this can make the comprehension difficult.I have learned a lot in this unit about teaching adults and youngers. To teach one to one clients is good but its disadvantage is that there is no group work or pair discussions. For students it's the same to that they might get bored and not pay much attention to the teacher nor the lesson. Teaching groups is quite better as you can have a lot of group activities and presentations. On the other hand it's hard to control big number of students with different level.
